What is a Landing Page?

A Landing Page is a specific webpage you want to point people towards, with a very specific goal or action.

“But isn’t that what my product page is?” may say someone with an online store.

Think of your website like it’s a video game. Your website is the entire video game. The Landing Page would be a castle in one of the levels. And when you’re in the castle, the goal is to save the princess.

Landing Pages are the next step to pointing your audience in the direction you want them to go, with specific purposes.

Companies use landing pages to market directly to their customers, or to provide more information in an organized fashion. They’ll direct customers to the Landing Page, rather than the full website, in order to reach a goal, which is usually a purchase.

For example, if you have an online store, but want to feature a sale or new product, your Landing Page will have these 3 main points:

Organize. Convince. Convert.

Organize the information.

Convince your audience this is what they want.

Convert a site visitor into a purchaser.

Landing Pages can be a great marketing tactic when made and used correctly. They can convert strangers into customers, and keep current customers loyal.
