Watching Out for Ransomware

Imagine you start up your day and boot up your computer like every other day — but instead of seeing your usual inbox, you’re met with a scary message that’s demanding payment be made, and they’re in possession of all of your website credentials.

Unfortunately, you’ve become a victim of ransomware.

There are a number of reasons why this could have happened — so what can you do to prevent it?

The number one reason why a website has been hacked with ransomware is outdated software. If your website or WordPress site is running on an old version, hackers utilize vulnerabilities in the old versions to gain access.

Remember: always backup and stay relevant so you can stay ahead of the game.
